Do people truly bvelieve in God?

Do some people truly believe in God or is joining a religion and the act of praying to God merely being part of a life-style for them. I question thus because i often read of people questioning the existence of God in other religions and performing deeds which indicate they do not believe or know God. They even talk of a need to defend God or a religion.

Below is my response to someone who tals of comparing religion and defending one as if anyone can talk of the the superiority of any one religion or having the capability to defend it.  Quote: Wan Salim said it was only Dr Zakir’s views on comparative religion and his methods in defending Islam that had drawn the ire of those who dared not face him. Unquote. He was commenting on Dr. Zakir's talks on Islam.

When it comes to religion, what is there to compare? You believe in a particular religion. That's fine for everyone but you do not have to compare. When you do, are you trying to say someone else's belief is not right or more inferior to yours?. Now, that is not fine for those others, as beliefs are personal. All matured people would understand that personal religious belief must never be questioned. And what is there to defend when it comes to Islam. Is not Islam already accepted by the world as a religion? Does not people respect God? We, or rather most, people believe in God. It's only where, for an individual, God is to be found, in which religion? Well, that depends upon the individual's belief which everyone ought to respect just as we expect others to respect our own beliefs. I personally have a strong belief in God's existence. Yes, one Almighty God. Almighty God because he is all powerful, capable of divinity, unlike mere mortals. If we believe in Almighty God, would we not understand He could be all knowing, everywhere present, everything capable of? Even being able to be present anywhere, anyhow or in any form? Would He not have known that different mortals can have different views and so choose different religions to accommodate differing thoughts? Would He not be present for everyone, no matter where, no matter how in whichever mortals' religion? Would He; remember He is All Almighty; be capable of being everywhere, no matter what your beliefs are, to love and cherish all the mortals whom he had created. If He had wanted just one religion, just one belief and no other, would He not have been capable of creating human minds to have just that instead of allowing so many religions to exist in our world? Would our Almighty God have been capable of that? Certainly, it could have been. That is if we truly believe in God, in His divine understanding, in His divine presence and in His divine capability. Do you truly believe in Almighty God? Does God and religion need anyone to defend?
