Always be aware of their tricks..

Every kind of trick can and will be used again and again to enjoy what is yours, be that your body, your property and your money. This has been happening since time began and you exist.

Cheats are around any part of the globe and as long as there are humans who could be persuaded or tricked into departing with something valuable, those cheats will inevitably thrive.

A few days ago, I received an email about happenings created by robbers in Johore. Perhaps, you could read the email below:

Subject: If you get RM10.00 in your car door handle.

Dear all,
Do pass this on to your list of people especially women who drive.

If you get RM10.00 in your car door handle, use tissue paper or cloth to
remove it without opening it and if possible bag it. Drive away immediately.

Don't check the ten ringgit note until you are in the company of your friends or
relatives. The note could either contain powdered drugs to knock you out or make you wonder if some guilty motorist is compensating you for a knock or scratch on your car. While you are still wondering, the robber(s) will attack you as you check the car. This has happened in Johor.

The ploy is to distract their victims as the robbers approach these people. However, the advice needs to be improved. If you were a woman, park the car in a safe place, a place where they are always people around, certainly not in some dark and lonely spot. Unless circumstances deem it unavoidable, to park in a dark and lonely spot cannot be considered wise, be it a man or a woman driver.

As for finding a ten ringgit note at the handle of the car-door, do not even think of examining it or putting it into a bag. Come on, which person would leave a ten ringgit note for knocking into your car if you are not around. So, the right thing to do is not to be greedy but just throw it away and enter your car quickly, locking the door immediately before driving off. Forget the ten ringgit. And never loiter around in the dark and lonely spot, even if it is to examine your car regardless of whether you suspect a dent to your car or not. Even if there is a dent, what can you do about it? The safest thing to do is get in fast into the security of your car, lock yourself in and drive away.

The way to be safe is through awareness. Be aware that cheaters and tricksters succeed only because people are careless, are distracted or are greedy. So, if we are not greedy but careful with whatever is in our possession we cannot be easily distracted enough to lose any valuable as no trick will be effective then.
